Protect Software - CD/DVD-ROM Copy Protection Solution

ProtectDISC is a unique copy protection system for CD-ROM media. A unique fingerprint applied to the CD-ROMs during the manufacturing process enables the ProtectDISC software components to differentiate original from copied CDs/DVDs.

Probably the most powerful copy protection on the market, ProtectDISC secures software against:

• Duplicate the original CD/DVD - the copy will not work and the software will ask for the original CD. No CD/DVD burner/software combination is physically able to write the mass manufactured unique fingerprint.
• Copy the CD/DVD to the hard disk - the program will not work if the original CD/DVD was not at least once in the drive (you can decide to check for the original always, once or at certain times)
• Emulate the original CD/DVD - the protected program will request the original disc if run from an emulated drive.
• Cracking and distributing cacked versions - ProtectDISC uses highly sophisticated anti-cracking technology that does not only prevent generic cracks (like competitors do) but also makes indivual cracks extremely hard. in fact, ProtectDISC version since end of 2003 have never been broken.
• Professional piracy through mass replication is much harder (* although with good equipment possible - we don't belive any other claim from competing products)
• Algorythm theft is almost impossible since the programs will be encrypted and debugging is securely disabled.

From the users perspective ProtectDISC is a preferred choice because of:

• Very fast protection detection and 100% compatibility - the figerprint check is only a matter of seconds. Since ProtectDISC CD/DVD is within the specifications of the CD/DVD-ROM spec, no additional hardware compatibility issues are introduced.
• 100% transparent check - the user is not required to enter an individual code.

ProtectDISC offers the following advantages to the Publishers development/QA department:

• Wrapping tools can be controlled by command line for automated protection on build systems
• New individual/machine limited unlock keys can be created for developer and beta machines to be able to test the FINAL master without the need for pre-production CDs/DVDs.

The implementation on the replicator side is done solely by the replicator:

• The unique DiscBuilder Tool automatically makes all adjustments needed on an image base and specifies the LBR parameters.
• Sophisticated QA Software verfies that all production steps have been correctly performed before the actual stamping.
• The CD media is 100% compliant to all standards and will pass the normal QA replication cycle without need for adjustments.
• The implementation is done fully automatically within 5 minutes of work and as part of the standard work flow.
